Mountain Pro 40 – a trusty companion
Dear Exped-Team,
For about one year by now I am a proud owner of a Mountain Pro 40. This pack has been a loyal companion while mountaineering, on via ferratas as well as on ski tours. Even when fully packed, it carries comfortably, is extremely robust and very modular to use thanks to the Daisy Chains. In addition, I like the flawless workmanship as well as the fact that the pack is fully weatherproof: this way it can be abused as a comfy seat cushion during snowy winter days, too. Many thoughtful details, such as the practical velcro webbing tidies, are a real pleasure to use. I thank you for the development of such a successful product.
Best regards from Munich

Mat testing in the factory
Before an Exped mat leaves the factory it must endure a battery of tests that take up to 72 hours to perform. One of these tests is a seemingly simple one for inflation integrity. Simple because it involves inflating the mat and monitoring it for any leak, but multiply that test by thousands of mats and it’s a bit more involved. It does, however, make for an impressive wall of mats!

Versatile and refined in design – The Torrent pack series
It’s hard to beat the clean and functional design of the Torrent packs.
This minimalistic, waterproof and tough pack is ideal for pretty much any use, but for sure the right choice if you’re headed in humid regions. But it also blends in well as an urban pack and we know a bunch of climbers that wouldn’t leave home without
their drypack.
The tapered packsack shape comes from our Alpine pack line. The shallow width of the pack base puts the center of gravity close to your back and warrants excellent load control. The pack is made of durable TPU laminated nylon and welded for integrity.
The fold and roll closure allows volume control and ensures a waterproof seal. The simple yet effective suspension system ensures comfortable carrying.

Bivy Poncho
Hi,
I’m a swiss industrial designer and quite a “pain in the neck” when it comes to products…
I came up with this Poncho a few months ago and have used it a few times and… nothing !
When I mean nothing : nothing disturbed me. It is almost flawless. Wonderful piece of art, not a product.
I thought to myself, just a piece of R&D luck.
Later on, just very recently, I fell on a specialized catalog with a brand I didn’t know named “Exped” presented in a nice way, and so I checked it out on internet. And there was my Poncho ! Turns out I had bought your Bivy Poncho and so I felt proud to have discovered your brand not via marketing, but with my instinct of efficient, simple, multi-functional and durable objects.
So now I’m getting addicted to your philosophy of design. So inspired in fact that I make my own gear as much as I can.
(Or buy your stuff when I can’t make it myself of course !)
So all this just to say BRAVO, I totaly approve your designs and really appreciate the human-ness of EXPED.
Best regards from Lausanne, Switzerland,
Martino
